Spartacus restored scene – starring David Cameron

Cameronus: Do you steal?

Antoninus: No, master.

Cameronus: Do you lie?

Antoninus: Not if I can avoid it.

Cameronus: Have you… ever dishonoured the Revenue?

Antoninus: No, master.

Cameronus: Do you refrain from these vices out of fear of a late filing penalty and the charging of interest?

Antoninus: Yes, master.

Cameronus: Do you perform stand-up comedy, sell DVDs of your performances, and avoid tax Antoninus?

Antoninus: No, master.

Cameronus: Do you sing songs while performing as a member of an ageing boy band and avoid tax, Antoninus?

Antoninus: No, master.

Cameronus: Do you consider the singing of songs while performing as part of an ageing boy band while avoiding tax to be moral, and the performance of stand-up comedy and selling DVDs of your shows while avoiding tax to be immoral?

Antoninus: No, master.

Cameronus: Pity. You see the performing of stand-up, then selling DVDs of your performances, while avoiding tax is immoral; while the singing of songs by someone performing as a member of an ageing boy band while avoiding tax is moral. It is all a matter of headlines, isn’t it?

Antoninus: Yes, master.

Cameronus: And headlines are not the same as real thoughts or opinions, and therefore not a question of morals, hmm?

Antoninus: It could be argued so, master.

Cameronus: My ash croft, Antoninus. Fetch me my ash croft.
