Headlines which fail to live up to the promise: number 94

The City of Edinburgh Council has pondered long and hard how to deal with the difficulty of assisting its citizens during the wintry weather. The poor, the infirm, and the elderly need special assistance at this time of year. But this costs money. So the Council planned to bring in the military. But to do what?

Well the headline says it all really:

Military personnel to help clear the streets of the most vulnerable in Edinburgh

It appears that the vulnerable will be gathered together in holding camps around Edinburgh before being shot. Thanks to the freezing weather conditions the corpses will remain fresh enough to provide an alternative meat supply until the M8 and M9 are properly reopened to allow full deliveries of products to central Edinburgh.

A spokesman for the council indicated that bodies could be stored on the proposed tram route as this has not been touched for the past few years and is unlikely to be used in the foreseeable future.

I watch the telly and read when not doing law stuff and plugging my decade and a half old unwatched Edinburgh fringe show.
