It has come to my attention that much to the surprise of news teams across the country this winter has turned out to have – what some weather forecasters term – wintry weather. Who’d have thought that in winter there would be snow, and ice with sub-zero temperatures?
Of course living in central north new Iceland we have had 3 weeks of this weather and have been unable to move. I managed to take a picture earlier today of the view outside my window of the cumulative build up of 35 plus centimetres of snow.
The bear arrived yesterday. Our cat seems to have gone missing.
Following the call of BBC Have your say who have pleaded on their website and via twitter for snow pictures for the past 3 weeks in the manner of the heading to this post I have sent them this image half a dozen times over the past 3 weeks but am advised that they suspect the picture may not be genuine (see here). You too could copy this picture and send it to Have your say as representing the view outside your house – and then perhaps news bulletins may contain news, rather than pathetic photos sent in from viewers encouraging viewer interaction rather than actually explaining and analysing what is happening with experts who know what they’re talking about rather than the ill-informed ramblings of people like us pontificating on every story going. If you are on twitter you can send them the picture by linking here – and you can contact @BBC_HaveYourSay or you can contact them via their webpage here.
ETA 6 Jan 9 am – And the Beeb are at it again with a special programme.
Who will rid us of these turbulent imbeciles with their viewer generated content obsessions.
