SNP lose the Scottish budget vote

On the casting vote of the presiding officer.

Last year Salmond indicated he’d resign and call an election.  Well, he can’t do that for reasons explained  last year.

So what next?

Apparently a new budget is to be prepared by Swinney and brought forward urgently.  It’s all very exciting (and re: above – of course Salmond can resign, but he cannot call an election.  That is governed by the Scotland Act provisions referred to in the post last year)
