TV event of the year?

Coming soon Red Riding

From the best british crime novels of recent years Channel 4 have started some teaser trailers (with the voice of Warren Clarke?)  and with appetite already whetted those wonderful chaps at Off the telly tell us the taster promos released this week look fantastic.

I can’t wait.

About loveandgarbage

I watch the telly and read when not doing law stuff and plugging my decade and a half old unwatched Edinburgh fringe show.

David Peace, as you know, is the finest novelist in the country right now, and even if the adaptation is half as good as Our Friends In The North then this is appointment television with knobs on.
That said it is possible to take a great modern novel and bugger it up big-style while adapting it for tv (BBC2 with The Rotters’ Club, I’m looking at you).

Yay! Looking forward to this (and also the dramatisation of The Damned United, which is one of my favourite all-time books).
I think there’s a clause somewhere that says Warren Clarke *has* to be in all such dramas *g*.
