Obituary news

So farewell then Verity Lambert – and while, like all Doctor Who fans, her role in bringing the show to air is something that I am grateful for and that has given me and now my children years of pleasure, let’s not forget the rest of her credits.

She produced one of the best TV drama series ever in GBH, one of the best-loved series in Rumpole of the Bailey, and one of the most important single dramas in The Naked Civil Servant.  She has been a pivotal figure in TV a trailblazer as the Beeb’s first femal producer, and the Beeb’s youngest producer.  She’ll be much missed.

About loveandgarbage

I watch the telly and read when not doing law stuff and plugging my decade and a half old unwatched Edinburgh fringe show.

And don’t forget Rock Follies… which did much more than launch the career of Countess Roza-Marie Leopoldyna Lubienska (and ultimately led to George Galloway’s cream-licking career highpoint) but was quite radical in many ways for its time.
