Sub-editing is an honourable profession

Sometimes the story you come up with for a headline present on the BBC newspage greatly exceeds the reality – sadly true in the case of “Police seek jockey impersonator” which sadly isn’t about a jockey entering races and being really bad (like an equine version of that bloke that Graeme Souness once signed thinking he was George Weah’s cousin) but is a much more banal tale.

It’s actually a typo? Police seek man impersonating famous Scottish darts player?

Living and working in central Scotland I see at least one short tubby toothless man every day that – if you squint in an appropriate light – could be a Jocky Wilson impersonator.
