Swiss news: the King and I

Insulting the King of Thailand leads to a potential 7 1/2 minimum, 75 year maximum sentence.  So if drunk and Swiss don’t think, “Shall I tell you what I think of you? ” while daubing a portrait of the king with paint.  Instead, whistle a happy tune, and contemplate Something wonderful.  Otherwise you may risk getting to know the king, while residing at his pleasure.

    ISTR guidebooks to Thailand (Rough Guide, etc) do say ‘don’t insult the King, he’s held in high esteem’, but I don’t recall seeing it mentioned that it was against the law. The sort of thing that’s worth knowing before going to Forn Parts.

    This guy is the answer to the much used question, “Why does this sh*t only happen to me?” Clearly it doesn’t, there are a far unluckier drunks out there.
