Oscar and Mrs Windsor

Someone reassure me that I wasn’t the only person who, when Dame Helen accepted the award, felt sure that in the tribute to HMQEII Dame Helen would follow the words “I salute her courage” with “and her indefatigibility”.

About loveandgarbage

I watch the telly and read when not doing law stuff and plugging my decade and a half old unwatched Edinburgh fringe show.

No, you’re not the only one.
I think that our chances of seeing a Saddam biopic are minimal, alas, either as a Mel Brooks-style musical (Saddam!), or as a Comic Strip-style Hollywood parody (Robbie Coltrane as Charles Bronson as Gorgeous George, etc).

      Good.

How about Larry David as Tariq Aziz, Jason Alexander as Comical Ali, Ted Danson as Saddam, and Ricky Gervais as George Galloway. Stephen Merchant could play Hans Blix. Zippo (aka Private Harry Speakup in the Bilko court martial episode) as the President of the free world. And Michael Sheen as Tony Blair. Larry David involvement could open up the opportunities for excrutiating comic misunderstandings about the whereabouts of weapons of mass destruction.
