4 on demand

It sounded great in theory.  Channel 4 this week launched their 4 on demand site where you can rent various classics from the Channel 4 back catalogue (including GBH).  As yet it’s not available for Mac users.  You have to be a WIndows XP used with Windows Media Player.  Or, at least that’s how it seems.  Sadly, despite my attempting to download stuff (gratis stuff and stuff you pay for) it hasn’t worked on my system  So I contacted Channel 4 support who have written back to advise that

“We are currently having a problem with the software. Our developers are currently working on a fix and hope to have some news today. “

I’m sure that when it works it’ll be great.  Until then…

300th post – who’d have thunk it?

About loveandgarbage

I watch the telly and read when not doing law stuff and plugging my decade and a half old unwatched Edinburgh fringe show.

I love the idea of VOD. I object to havign to watch it on my PC.
Which is why I download MPEG or AVI files and then watch them on my TV. My DVD player handily connects to my TV PC transfers files over. Dead handy. Does music too.

    • 4on demand will let you watch it on your telly. Unfortunately my technical ignorance doesn’t let me do this at home (although my technically minded father in law has promised to help sort this out).
