Media news – making the Grade

Following the shock resignation of Sir Michael Grade the BBC have unveiled his replacement, designed to thwart Grade in his bid to revamp ITV.  Ant ‘n’ Dec will assume their new role from the start of the year in a job-share project.  The official faces of the viewers and listeners of the BBC their appointment and agreement to work only as the chairmen of trustees reduces ITV original programming output by some 146%.

Grade has therefore had to put on hold his plans to revive ITV1 by axing a number of programmes in development.  In his sights were The Mint Aftertaste – Jack Osbourne hosted programme about the popular quizshow The Mint presented by Brian Dowling and other items of joinery; and Suck the Celebrity which was still in development hell, although with Darren Day and John Leslie tentatively signed up for it.  Both may yet make it to the screens.
