Blunkett interviewed

The Guardian podcasts are not things I’ve ventured into very often, aside from Banville on his Blunt book and Rankin on Fleshmarket Close (by the way Banville’s new pseudonymous Christine Falls by “Benjamin Black” is pretty good).  However, I couldn’t resist Mr Magister being interviewed by a barrister.  An hour long interview with the bearded uber-villain on civil liberties and new Labour.  Fascinating stuff.  The sort of thing Brian Walden used to do before TV folks decided we had the attention spans of gnats and required slinky shiny graphics every couple of minutes while broadcasting spurious links from vaguely inappropriate places to leave you thinking, “Why is Jeremy Vine standing next to a cow holding a pint of Theakstons?” to keep you from switching to the shiny flashy delights on (one of) the (two thousand) other channel(s).

About loveandgarbage

I watch the telly and read when not doing law stuff and plugging my decade and a half old unwatched Edinburgh fringe show.
