Blemish free Archer back

While browsing in a fortunate happenstance – given the ongoing Sheridan case – I have discovered the following delight: Jeffrey Archer’s blog.  Apparently he’s publishing a new book of short stories.  This news is tempered by the good news that Ronald Searle has been paid to illustrate it.

About loveandgarbage

I watch the telly and read when not doing law stuff and plugging my decade and a half old unwatched Edinburgh fringe show.

    Thanks for the warning.
I’ve read one of his books.[*] There is no news so good that it could temper news of another one being produced. Unless, perhaps it were a blurb describing it as the last work of the late Jeffrey Archer.
[*I was in the desert, and it was the only non-textbook there I had not previously read. It was not worth the time it took to read. Anyone who says Archer is a good storyteller proves themselves to be someone who would not know a good story if you battered them with The Mammoth Book of Really, Really Good Stories.]

    • I’ve read Michael Crick’s biography of him a couple of times. I think the continued existence of Archer is justified as long as Michael Crick is obsessed by him. 😉
He is not a good storyteller, other than in the sense that my mother used the word “storyteller” when she was telling off me or my sisters if we denied anything blatantly committed by one of our number.
      Did you break that vase?
Do you know how it got broken?
      You’re a storyteller.
