Obsessives of the world unite – Countdown statistics in full

A while ago I posted a link to a site which has detailed statistics of every game of Deal or No Deal.

I have now (via Almax’s blog) come across this: the Countdown page.  Let the homepage speak for its content:

“Welcome to the Countdown Page, probably the most extensive archive of Countdown results on the Web.

“Apart from the final scores of almost every show, there is much more to explore, including round-by-round details of Grand Finals, a list of series champions in the Hall of Fame, reviews of classic games and the names of all the celebrity guests to have appeared in Dictionary Corner. If your thirst for knowledge is still not satisfied, you will also find links to lots of other Countdown sites. “

The most interesting page is the following http://www.thecountdownpage.com/gotw-archive.htm , the Game of the Week archive which provides links to allow you to relive classic games of Countdown.  I mean, who can (or indeed would want to) forget the Season 13, second quarter final?

Coming soon: the Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush statistical analysis; and full details of every horse Jack Hargreaves spoke about on Out of Town.

About loveandgarbage

I watch the telly and read when not doing law stuff and plugging my decade and a half old unwatched Edinburgh fringe show.

  1. What next? An index of every time William G. Stewart went off on one about the Elgin Marbles on Fifteen To One?

    • Do you remember the early running episode where after an atrocious first and second round and rather brief final William G filled for 15 minutes or so on the topic? TV Gold… And all this from the man that brought us The Price is Right and saved Don’t Forget your Toothbrush.
