BBC lunchtime daily slot.
Presented by renowned actor Roger Lloyd Pack (Barty Crouch from Harry Potter and John Lumic from TV’s Doctor Who). A reprise of one of his lesser-seen characters, Trigger, from TV’s Only Fools and Horses.
In a studio rather like Eggheads there are two teams. A team of resident comedians (Frank Carson, Bradley Walsh, Catherine Tate, Joe Pasquale, Phil Cool) against a team of punters who share little in common other than drinking in the same pub, living in the same house, or posting on the same collaborative blog.
Trigger reveals a topic (eg mothers in law, environmentalists, food, the political situation in North Korea) and one punter and one comic go head to head making jokes on this topic in an attempt to make Trigger laugh. Each has one minute.
Failure to make Trigger laugh means you miss out on the final round where a celebrity (briefly interviewed by Trigger) is dragged out and those remaining compete to make them laugh. The first to do so is the winner. If the resident comics win a money prize is rolled over to the following programme.
Potential celebrities for the final round include Peter Purves, John Levene, Tim Wonnacott, Johnny Briggs, Faith Brown, Tim Vine, Jeremy Vine, Frank Bough.
