Ashen faced England manager Fabio Capello today called up a giant poppy to replace controversial John Terry in the England squad. He intends to appoint the poppy England captain and has confirmed that it will lead the teams out at Wembley wearing a “kick John Terry out of football” T-shirt.
“A giant poppy will certainly bolster our central defence,” said Capello. “It has greater mobility than Rio Ferdinand and John Terry, and better distribution from defence than the other squad players.”
Ah now Scott – I think you’ll find Poppy is being armbanded rather than capped!
