So
farewell
then
Stewart Stevenson
Minister for Transport
and Climate Change.Keith’s mum could never work out
how someone
whose hobbies include flying
could be appointed
to a climate change
portfolio
but
she seemed
pleased that
you’d resigned
after Keith fell
on an ungritted path
after he returned home
following 15 hours
on the M8.Your electoral website told us
that your favourite music
was
the 1812 overture
by Beethovenrather than Tchaikovsky.
Like Napoleon in 1812
the snow
defeated you.
(I am not a Stevenson fan (just search for his name on this blog), but what a pointless resignation. Bad weather happens. His communication was awry – mixing up phone numbers, and coming across badly in interviews, but to resign for that and for an opposition blaming him for exceptional weather? Is this a precedent opposition politicians are keen to set? If Labour win the election I give Richard Baker a fortnight in this new politics where people resign for poor communication skills)
