This is reported with no comment, for reasons which regular readers will appreciate.
Tommy Sheridan is to begin a law degree at the University of Strathclyde in the autumn, it has been reported. It is reported that he will begin the two year accelerated LLB degree – and take advantage of a law school that hosts leading Scottish academic experts on defamation (professors Kenneth Norrie and John Blackie) as well as some excellent teaching resources, not least the webcasts used in various classes.

Tommy Sheridan Perjury Case
Have you any thoughts on when the anticipated perjury case against T. Sheridan is likely to be held?
Does the case need to actually begin within one year of the charges having been brought? Or is a declaration of intent to proceed all that is required with an actual trial date being left open for when “space” can be found to fit it in? If that makes sense?
Re: Tommy Sheridan Perjury Case
Section 65 of the Criminal procedure (Scotland) = which I think covers it – provides it’s a year from first appearance, not from the arrest. I can’t remember offhand when the firtst appearance was, but that’s the key trigger date.
Best wishes
