I’ll guess 1) Carlisle, 2) Stirling, 3) Bamburgh.
1 and 2 correct. I’m from Dumfriesshire originally so took the kids to Carlisle Castle last year.
3 is incorrect. It’s difficult getting a view that doesn’t have ruins in it.
It was the red sandstone that made me guess (correctly) that 1) was Carlisle, whereas it was the shape of the keep that identified 2) as Stirling for me.
Is #1 the old bit of Edinburgh Castle, with the door just to the left of centre being that to St Margaret’s Chapel?
It’s Carlisle, although I can see why you’d think it was Edinburgh.
Meant to add: I’ve seen #3, but I cannot for the live of me remember where it is.
It’s Scottish if that helps.

“It’s Scottish if that helps.”
It doesn’t!
It’s Linlithgow Palace.
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. It’s been my son’s birthday and I’ve been off-line for a few days.
Scott
Thanks! That actually crossed my mind from having been there, but I couldn’t bring out the name “Linlithgow”. If I’d had a map I could have put my finger right on it — or near it, at least — but of course maps of Scotland are a bit thin on the ground over here.
Wish your son a fine birthday from me.
I think no. 3 is Linlithgow Palace.
Absolutely correct
