Yes, folks, it’s Farmhouse Breakfast week and we’ve already missed half of it. You can try the Farmhouse breakfast quiz, nominate your favourite breakfast; tell people about your breakfast club; and find out how to get involved in the national celebrations.
This would all have escaped my attention, but fortunately the Scottish government has reminded us of our favourite week of the year with a hearty breakfast of ”sausage, bacon, egg and tomatoes/mushrooms on wholegrain bread, all produced in Scotland and sourced from Scottish food companies” and a platitude and cliche laden press release including such delights as
“breakfast is the most important meal of the day.”
promoting the national food conversation – where the Scottish public can help develop Scotland’s food policy.

For breakfast this morning, I had a filled lemon muffin & a full-fat latte from MAT. Becsuae I forgot to put the dishwasher on last night, so the porrage pot was still smeared with the remains of last night’s mushroom sauce.
