When do you tell someone you've lost 25 million records? and is there a liar in the White House?

This hasn’t received much UK publicity as yet (given that our minds are on the ineptitude of a government system that can lose the details of 25 million people and then wait three weeks to tell the bosses at HMRC who wait two days before telling Chancellor, and then wait four days before telling the police, and then wait another week before telling the banks and then another 4 days before telling the public), but seems pretty important.  Scott McClellan, former White House CJ, has a book out in April that says he was sent to lie about the leaking of Valerie Plame’s name to the media (the thing that brought down Scooter Muppet Libby.  He says he was told that Libby and MC Rove were not involved in leaking Plame’s name to the media.  However,

“There was one problem. It was not true.

“I had unknowingly passed along false information. And five of the highest ranking officials in the administration were involved in my doing so: Rove, Libby, the vice-president, the president’s chief of staff, and the president himself.”

Now if Georg von Bush – the ape who denies evolution – is implicated in lying to the people that seems pretty serious.
