Jack McConnell has resigned as leader of the Scottish Labour party, having never recovered from being unknown to Patricia who-it? during the Holyrood election campaign. The race to replace him begins here: the likely runners are
sister Wendy Alexander – sister of Douglas “Miss Hoolie” Alexander, protege of Gordon Brown, intellectual, acknowledged vote-winner due to her caring personality and highly charismatic persona (evidenced by each of the three previous pieces of information);
Andy Kerr – Continuity Jack candidate, Kerr was health minister, looks a little like a chipmunk with glasses (think one of the backing singers from Alvin and the chipmunks), affable, perhaps a little too like Jack McConnell to win, has yet to endorse sister Wendy;
Margaret Curran – not tipped to win but has many attributes, she’s witty, has a little more of the popular touch than Wendy Alexander, is unlikely to be flustered by wee Eck in the Parliament – my preferred choice, hence, unlikely to be anywhere.
Field Major Dr Styre – if he comes to Scotland, takes Jack’s seat and then wins the leadership – unlikely but sure to irritate Salmond, his own party, the public, and those furth of Scotland.
So, who should be Scottish labour’s next leader
Alex Salmond (for First Minister)
I’m glad the write in campaign has started. I realised my omission moments after closing the entry and have yet to work out how to edit polls…
If you could edit polls you’d be George W Bush…
I’ll set my lawyer, Katherine Harris, onto it immediately
TommY Sheridan?
George Galloway.
