Murder (ITV 1 – unbroadcast pilot)
It’s girls against boys as Sir Trevor MacDonald and Kate Thornton host the game show where two gender-based teams of celebrities, captained by Rose West and Dennis Nilsen from their current residences, compete to murder a celebrity from a competitior TV station.
West and Nilsen are found Lecter-like allowing the contestants to discuss tactics with them. The celebrities include ITV figures Sir David Jason, Sherrie Hewson, Zac from Emmerdale, Ken Barlow, Stephanie Beacham, and Zoe Lucker. The celebrities were given details of celebrities, Davina McCall and Dermot O’Leary, and had to stalk them to identify points during the day when each was at risk. After consultation with the team captain, a hostage-taking and subsequent murder was planned – although production was halted after an injunction by Nick Ross to preserve his monopoly on real crime broadcasts for a public service remit (by telling you how to avoid similar problems).
In the very early 90s I worked on a collaborative project on which the two guys from Rolls Royce were called Ken Barlow and Paul Robinson, for any soap fans.
The two BAe guys were called Julian and Sandy. But nobody else found that funny. I despair sometimes.

That was me, btw.
