So, there’s a legal dispute about who wrote the music for “Whiter shade of pale”. Successful litigation by the keyboard bloke will mean the lyricists look for new music. As so ably demonstrated many years ago by the late Willie Rushton on I’m sorry I haven’t a clue there is no better replacement than the music from My Old Man’s A Dustman.
As I can’t find the clip of that on t’internet how about Name that barcode - a popular variant on Name That Tune?
I’m sure that some fellow called Bach may have had something to say on this one, though AFAIK interviews via a medium are not admissible as evidence in the English courts.
In Cummins v Bond [1927] 1 Ch 167 it was held that a medium who had written down work produced under the influence of someone long since dead was the author for copyright purposes. The meidum had argued it was created by an extra-terrestrial psychic. The judge indicated that his enquiry must be confined to those alive when the work was made. That clearly rules Bach out of the picture
I thought it was J.S. Bach wrote that music.
