My favourite “news” story of the month so far is this report from The Scotsman newspaper, “Bin Laden “fantasised over” Whitney Houston”.
The story reports a Sudanese writer held against her will by bin Laden claiming that Osama wanted to give Whitney a mansion and make her one of his wives (could this be worse than Bobby Brown?). It also reveals Osama’s favourite television shows: The Wonder Years; Miami Vice (wonder what he thinks of the remake); and MacGyver (!!!??!). I’m sure Mr bin Laden has thoughts on the Radio Times list of worst television given his very high standards. If he is interested in posting thoughts on Naked Jungle, Minipops, Thomas the Tank Engine, Nigella, Heil Honey I’m Home, or Mind your language can someone point me in the direction of the relevant URL.
While held against her will by bin Laden the writer, Kola Boof, said,
“It would soon come to the point where I was sick of hearing Whitney Houston’s name.”
In the summer of the Bodyguard it soon came to the point where I was sick of hearing Whitney Houston.
I have fond memories of a reported misprint of Ms Houston’s name. The “T” was missed from her first name.
Which seems rather appropriate…
David.
